Pokhara Metropolitan City has begun clearing the Phirke riverbank, demolishing 20 structures (8 permanent, 12 temporary) on Sunday. The metropolis plans to remove all 160 encroached structures within a few days to divert the river's natural flow and clear the land. Mayor Dhanraj Acharya stated that additional manpower and equipment will be mobilized, and a technical team is working to ensure no obstruction to the river's natural course.
