Implementation status of NHRC’s recommendations not satisfactory: Chair Magar

The Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, Top Bahadur Magar, stated that the implementation status of the NHRC's recommendations to the government is unsatisfactory. Addressing the commission's 26th anniversary, Magar stressed the need for attention to victims' rights due to delays in justice for armed-conflict era incidents and called for the proposed National Human Rights Commission Act. Commission member Lily Thapa and UNDP Deputy-Resident Representative Julien Chevillard also spoke on human rights issues.
