Govt allocates Rs 15 billion for health insurance, expands burn treatment capacity

The government has allocated Rs 15 billion for the health insurance program in the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27, an increase of Rs 5 billion from the current fiscal year. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle announced this during the budget presentation in the Federal Parliament. The government also plans to expand the capacity of intensive burn treatment services at Bir Hospital and Kirtipur Hospital.
