‘National Human Rights Commission’ releases its report on Gen Z protests

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has submitted recommendations to the government regarding alleged human rights violations during the Gen Z movement on September 8-9, 2025. The commission identified former leaders KP Sharma Oli, Ramesh Lekhak, and Prithvi Subba Gurung as culprits, and recommended investigations into Rabi Lamichhane and others. The NHRC also called for departmental action against police chiefs and suggested retrospective legislation for accountability.
