Arniko Highway Expansion Project Faces Delays

The expansion of the 16-kilometer Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel section of the Arniko Highway, initiated three years ago, remains incomplete, causing daily hardship for commuters due to dust, mud, and traffic jams. Despite reaching approximately 70 percent physical progress, the project faces delays attributed to material shortages, price hikes, monsoon disruptions, and utility line relocation issues. Blacktopping is underway in some sections, but many areas remain dug up, impacting local residents and travelers.
