Supreme Court issues interim order barring arrest of Deuba couple

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order preventing the arrest of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba in connection with a money laundering investigation. The court found that the procedures followed by the Department of Money Laundering Investigation and the Kathmandu District Court in seeking and granting the arrest warrant did not comply with legal requirements. Deuba had filed a petition stating his willingness to cooperate with investigators.
