The Ministry of Finance and its subordinate agencies recorded the highest amount of irregularities in fiscal year 2081/82, with Rs 37.63 billion, nearly 70 percent of total federal irregularities reaching Rs 53.48 billion. The former Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport ranked second with Rs 7.10 billion in arrears. The Office of the Auditor General recommended strengthening financial accountability and the arrears settlement process to improve fiscal discipline.
