Supreme Court Allows Video Conference Statements for Defendants Abroad
The Supreme Court has ruled that defendants abroad for foreign employment or study can give statements via video conferencing through the Nepali embassy. A joint bench overturned a previous Special Court order, allowing the use of technology for statements. This decision came after Sabhita KC, a defendant in a corruption case in Australia, requested to give her statement remotely, a request initially denied by the Special Court.
