SC orders release of former minister Gupta on bail of Rs 5 million

The Supreme Court has ordered the release of CPN-UML leader and former minister Raj Kumar Gupta from judicial custody on a bail of Rs 5 million. The apex court overturned the Special Court’s decision to keep Gupta in custody pending trial in a corruption case related to the Litchibari land scam in Pokhara. The court also upheld the Special Court’s decision to release another former minister, Ranjita Shrestha, on bail.
