The "Bundibugyo" strain is involved, differing from previous outbreaks that primarily used the "Zaire" strain, for which most vaccines and treatments are designed. A case has also been detected in Uganda, raising concerns about cross-border spread to Uganda and South Sudan, with Kenya increasing vigilance.
