Supreme Court issues interim order against arrest of Deuba couple

The Supreme Court has issued an interim order preventing the arrest of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba in a money laundering investigation. The court found that the procedures followed by the Department of Money Laundering Investigation and the Kathmandu District Court in seeking and granting the arrest warrant did not comply with prevailing legal provisions. Deuba had filed a writ petition challenging the arrest warrant, stating his willingness to cooperate with investigators and arguing that his arrest was unnecessary.
