Balen Government’s Election Bills Passed by Parliament

The House of Representatives has unanimously passed two key election-related bills: the ‘House of Representatives Member Election (First Amendment) Bill, 2083’ and the ‘Voter Roll (First Amendment) Bill, 2083’. These bills, introduced by Prime Minister Balendra Shah's government, will now proceed to the National Assembly for approval. Lawmaker Prem Bahadur Bayak raised concerns about the representation of persons with disabilities under the proportional electoral system, to which Minister Sobita Gautam responded that the current framework is based on population-based inclusion principles.
