Former Minister Gupta released on bail of Rs 5 million

The Supreme Court has ordered the release of former Minister Rajkumar Gupta, arrested for accepting a bribe, on a bail of Rs 5 million. The court also sought a written response within 24 hours regarding the arrest of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, following a habeas corpus writ petition. Gupta was in judicial custody after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed a case against him for allegedly accepting bribes to transfer Land Revenue Officials.
