The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), a relatively new political force, is experiencing internal stress and discipline challenges just two months after entering the government. Party president Rabi Lamichhane has convened meetings and held consultations with lawmakers to warn against factionalism and address rumors of rifts within the party.

Lawmakers present at the meeting rejected claims that they were chased out, stating the incident was exaggerated and that supporters of Swarnakar attempted to disrupt the proceedings.

Police in Chitwan have arrested Panchdev Mahara, who had been a fugitive for seven years in connection with a homicide case. Mahara was apprehended in Bara district based on suspicion of involvement in the death of Sakhichan Mahara, who was found dead in a labor compound in Khairahani Municipality in 2076 BS.
