Medical businessman Durga Prasai has been formally charged at the Parsa District Court following the submission of a police investigation report recommending charges under the Electronic Transactions Act and for offenses against the state. The case is based on Prasai's statements made on YouTube channels and public appearances, where he allegedly used defamatory remarks against women and belittled state institutions. The Supreme Court has ordered Prasai's release from custody.

Nepal's total public debt liability has reached nearly Rs 3 trillion by mid-May of the current fiscal year, according to the Public Debt Management Office. The debt now stands at 45.08 percent of the GDP, with foreign debt comprising 53.57 percent of the total. The government has only achieved 61.30 percent of its annual public debt target by mid-May.
