Windstorm Damages Over 82 Structures, Affects 5 Schools in Gulmi

A severe windstorm accompanied by rainfall has caused significant damage to over 82 structures, including five schools, across Gulmi district. The storm, which occurred on Monday night, resulted in no human or livestock casualties, with Malika Rural Municipality experiencing the most extensive damage.

  • Malika Rural Municipality reported damage to 66 houses, sheds, toilets, cooperative buildings, temples, and schools.
  • Devisthan Secondary School and Bhairav Kali Boarding School in Ward No. 7 had their tin roofs damaged, and the roof of a toilet at Suryodaya Basic School in Ward No. 5 was blown away.
  • Madane Rural Municipality saw nine houses and sheds damaged, while Musikot Municipality had three house roofs destroyed.
  • Shree Shringa Janata Secondary School in Chhatrakot Rural Municipality-4 had its science laboratory building's tin roof overturned.
  • Police teams are still collecting details, and the number of affected houses may increase as damage assessment continues.
