A government economic survey indicates that 69.6 percent of schools in Nepal have electricity access, while internet access reaches 85.4 percent. Separately, Japan has funded the reconstruction of a 12-room classroom building for Shree Bheri Triveni Secondary School in Jajarkot District, which was destroyed in a November 2023 earthquake, providing a safer learning environment for nearly 500 students.

  • The government survey also reported that over 1.54 million community school students received scholarships and 2.7 million received midday meals in the 2082 academic session.
  • The newly constructed building in Jajarkot was supported by Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) with USD 170,159.
  • The survey noted the completion of 7,672 schools post-earthquake and identified 271,344 teachers nationwide, with 43.7 percent being female.
  • The teacher-student ratio in community schools was found to be 24, and 29 in institutional schools.
  • The project in Jajarkot was implemented by Volunteer Corps Nepal.
