NAIHS Launches Doctoral Programs and Plans New Bachelor's Courses

The Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS) has launched super-specialty doctoral programs in cardiology, critical care, and urology, with classes already underway. Executive Director Devendra Bahadur Khatri stated that the institute also plans to introduce Bachelor in Physiotherapy and Bachelor in Pharmacy programs from the upcoming academic session. NAIHS has also achieved a 100% pass rate in recent licensing exams for MBBS, BPH, and MLT graduates.

  • NAIHS currently offers five bachelor's degree programs and 18 master's degree subjects, with 1,215 students enrolled in undergraduate studies and 265 in postgraduate programs.
  • The institute, established on September 15, 2010, on the initiative of then Chief of Army Staff Chhatraman Singh Gurung, has a faculty of 38 professors, 68 associate professors, and 142 lecturers.
  • NAIHS reported a 100% success rate for its MBBS graduates in the Nepal Medical Council licensing exams in 2082 BS, and similar success in exams conducted by the Nepal Health Professional Council and Nepal Nursing Council.
  • Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel praised NAIHS for producing skilled and ethical healthcare professionals during its 15th anniversary celebration.
