Domestic tourist number higher than foreign tourists visiting Chitwan National Park

Foreign tourist arrivals to Chitwan National Park have declined by 11,190 compared to the previous fiscal year, with 89,630 foreign tourists visiting until Baisakh of the current fiscal year, down from 100,830 last year. However, domestic tourism has seen an increase, with 137,246 Nepali tourists visiting this year compared to 103,672 last year. Information Officer Avinash Thapa Magar attributed the decline in foreign tourists to political developments and Middle Eastern conflicts, while the rise in domestic tourism is linked to increased travel among Nepalis and the government's two-day weekend policy.
