The number of international visitors to Japan fell by 5.5 percent to 3.69 million in April compared to the previous year, according to official data from the Japan National Tourism Organization. This decline occurred despite a record high in the preceding month, with significant drops in Chinese visitors and cancellations attributed to the Mideast war. Chinese visitors decreased by 56.8 percent following a travel warning from Beijing, and arrivals from the Middle East fell by 21.4 percent.
