Five years on, organic fertilizer & biogas plant in Khotang still not operational

A modern organic fertilizer and biogas plant established five years ago in Khotang district remains non-operational, disappointing local residents. The facility, built at a cost of approximately Rs 50 million with government subsidies and municipal investment, was intended to process waste from Diktel Bazaar into usable products and generate biogas. Despite its inauguration in 2077 BS, the plant, which has the capacity to produce 1,000 kg of fertilizer per hour, lies idle, leading to criticism of the current municipal leadership and concerns about the wasted investment.
