The Chief Minister’s Contact Office in Dhankuta has become non-functional, operating with only an office assistant and failing to provide promised services to residents of Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, and Bhojpur districts. Established in 2019 to decentralize services from the provincial capital Biratnagar, the office lacks clear authority and has seen its staffing structure approved annually, which has now stopped. Locals accuse former Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai of misleading the public, and the office building is reportedly in disrepair.
