Consumption of petroleum products decreases by 10 percent

Consumption of petroleum products in Nepal has decreased by 10 percent for petrol and 9.9 percent for diesel as of mid-Falgun of the current fiscal year, coinciding with an increase in electricity consumption. The use of electric stoves is also reducing cooking gas consumption. Electricity access has reached 99.1 percent of the population, with a total installed power capacity of 4,105 megawatts, including 3,798 megawatts of hydropower. The country has exported 2,918 gigawatt hours of electricity to India.
