California chemical tank explosion threat ‘eliminated,’ official says

The threat of a toxic chemical tank explosion in Southern California has subsided, allowing some of the 50,000 evacuated residents to return home. Concerns over flammable chemicals in a tank containing methyl methacrylate prompted evacuations on Friday. Officials reported that pressure in the tank is declining, and there is no active leak.
