Long-distance buses from Kathmandu Valley to introduce luggage tag system

A luggage tagging system will be introduced in long-distance public transport vehicles operating from the Kathmandu Valley starting March 29, following an agreement between the Metropolitan Traffic Police Office Kathmandu and the National Transport Entrepreneurs Federation Nepal. This system aims to enhance passenger safety, reduce lost or swapped baggage, and control theft and illegal activities by requiring passengers to match a tag number for their luggage at the destination. The initiative is expected to modernize services and prevent the misuse of public transport for smuggling.
