A luggage tag system will be implemented on long-distance public transport vehicles departing from Kathmandu Valley starting May 29 to enhance passenger safety and manage belongings. The initiative, formalized through an agreement between the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs, aims to prevent luggage loss, theft, and swapping.

  • Passengers will receive a luggage tag number that must match the tag on their baggage for retrieval at the destination.
  • The system is intended to curb increasing incidents of luggage theft, loss, and illegal activities within public transport.
