NEA to build 132 kV underground transmission line in central Kathmandu

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) plans to construct an 11.92-kilometer 132 kV underground transmission line in central Kathmandu, connecting Balaju to Singha Durbar. The project aims to ensure a smooth electricity supply, improve urban aesthetics, and increase consumption capacity, with substations planned at Maharajgunj, Durbarmarg, Ratnapark, and Singha Durbar. The NEA has applied for necessary permissions, and the project is expected to be completed within three years.
