Fugitive Arrested from Central Jail for Rape Case

Police have arrested Nishan Tamang, 24, a fugitive defendant in a rape case, from Sundhara Central Jail. Tamang, who had fled during the Genji movement, was apprehended in Bardibas Municipality-5. He had been sentenced by the District Court, Bhaktapur, to 25 years in prison and a fine of Rs 7 lakh for the rape and child sexual abuse of a 7-year-old. Tamang had escaped from Central Jail on August 24 during the Genji movement and has now been returned to serve his sentence.
