Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma Assumes Office as 33rd Chief Justice of Supreme Court

Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma has assumed office as the 33rd Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, having been recommended by the Constitutional Council and approved by the parliamentary hearing committee. Sharma, who comes from a legal professional background, will serve a full six-year term, completing it in Jeth 2089. His tenure faces challenges including a backlog of over 22,000 pending cases, controlling petty bribes and manipulation, improving the case disposal rate, and addressing clashes between the Nepal Bar Association and the Bench.
