Govt warns fertilizer importers against selling substandard chemical fertilizers

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment has directed fertilizer importers and dealers to ensure that chemical fertilizers sold in the market meet the specifications outlined in the Chemical Fertilizer Control Order. Traders are urged not to import, mix, or distribute chemical fertilizers using misleading labels or false information. Agricultural economist Mahananda Joshi stated that traders involved in black marketing of subsidized fertilizers will face action. Farmers are advised to purchase fertilizers only from reliable sources and verify price, source, and quality before purchasing.
