The government has allocated Rs 101.95 billion for the health sector in the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27, prioritizing health services expansion, social security, and infrastructure development. Rs 15 billion is designated for health insurance and Rs 13.15 billion for social health security. The budget includes completing 336 under-construction hospitals, allocating Rs 5.9 billion for new hospital preparations, and expanding telemedicine services in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
