RSP MP Lima Acharya demands legal guarantee for timely payment to farmers

Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Lima Acharya has called on the government to establish a legal provision ensuring farmers are paid for their agricultural produce within 15 days. She highlighted the widespread issue of delayed payments for milk, sugarcane, and rice, citing Makwanpur farmers alone being owed over Rs 1.4 billion. Acharya emphasized that these delays prevent farmers from meeting essential expenses and force young people to seek employment abroad, hindering national prosperity and agricultural sustainability.
