Tribhuvan University (TU) is facing a faculty attendance scam where professors allegedly work outside employment using permissions that exploit regulatory loopholes. Despite investigations by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), professors often show permits allowing part-time work, which are then used to skip TU duties. While TU rules prohibit outside employment without approval, loopholes and lax enforcement allow many to work at private institutions, sometimes even in dual roles, with minimal consequences beyond warnings.
