Drinking water pipelines in the Kathmandu Valley have sustained damage worth NPR 6.59 crore due to a lack of coordination between government bodies, according to the 63rd annual report of the Office of the Auditor General. Damages occurred during road, electricity, and other works by entities including the Nepal Electricity Authority and the Department of Roads. The report also questions the non-recovery of significant amounts related to terminated construction contracts for sewage treatment plants.
