Hilton Hotel seeks Rs 4.39 billion insurance claim after riot damage

Hilton Kathmandu has filed an insurance claim of Rs 4.39 billion with Oriental Insurance Company for damages sustained during the Gen Z protests on September 9-10 last year. The hotel suffered vandalism and fire damage, and reconstruction preparations are underway. The Nepal Insurance Authority had previously penalized Himalayan Reinsurance, Oriental Insurance Company, Alliant Insurance Brokers, and the CEO of Nepal Reinsurance Company for regulatory violations.
