Madhes Province's economic growth rate is projected to be weak in the current fiscal year due to low contributions from paddy, fishery, and forestry sectors, along with negative growth in agriculture. The National Statistics Office indicated that insufficient rainfall has negatively impacted paddy and fish production, leading to a decrease in economic growth for two consecutive years. The province's contribution to the national GDP is estimated at 13.1 percent for fiscal year 2082/83 BS.
