Eighteen trap cameras have been installed in the Samagaun and Samdo areas of the Manaslu Conservation Area to study the increasing human-wildlife conflict, particularly attacks on livestock like yaks and horses. The Manaslu Conservation Area Project is monitoring activities of stray dogs, snow leopards, Himalayan wolves, and bears. This initiative aims to identify the causes and species involved in the attacks, which have led to significant economic losses for local livestock farmers and threaten pastoral livelihoods.
