Conservation campaign triggers Bajura-Humla territorial dispute
A conservation and tourism promotion campaign in Ranisain, Bajura, has ignited a territorial dispute with the neighboring Humla district. Residents from Humla are claiming ownership of the area, which Himali Rural Municipality asserts falls within its jurisdiction. The dispute intensified after a temporary police post was established to control the illegal collection and smuggling of valuable medicinal herbs.
