132-kV underground transmission line to be built in central Kathmandu

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) will construct an 11.92 km 132-kV underground transmission line in central Kathmandu to improve electricity distribution within the Ring Road. The line will connect Balaju Substation to Singha Durbar via Maharajgunj and Ratna Park, aiming to support increasing demand and reduce visual pollution. The project, which includes building several substations, is planned for completion within three years. Similar projects in Pokhara and Bharatpur are nearing completion.
