A climbing team, including Chinese member Shi Jungi, has become the first of the spring season to summit both Mt Everest and Lhotse in a single continuous ascent. The team reached the summit of Mt Everest at 8:56 am on May 14, followed by Lhotse at 11:25 am the same day. This ascent deviated from the standard strategy by descending to Camp II on Everest after summiting before proceeding to Lhotse.
