The Supreme Court has ordered the release of former minister Rajkumar Gupta on a Rs 5 million bail in a corruption case involving alleged bribery for land revenue official transfers. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had accused Gupta of accepting bribes for facilitating these transfers. In a separate matter, the Supreme Court has also requested a written explanation within 24 hours regarding the arrest of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
