The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has proposed a budget of NPR 10.13 billion for the fiscal year 2083/84, exceeding the ceiling set by the National Planning Commission. This increase is attributed to the need for additional funds for industrial infrastructure, export promotion, and national pride projects. The ministry also plans to introduce an 'Investment Express Policy' to streamline business processes for investors, including an investment visa system and online approval within five days. Initiatives like the 'Startup Nepal Portal' and a 'Women's Entrepreneurship Development Strategy' are planned to support new entrepreneurs and women-led businesses. The budget also prioritizes projects like the Dhauwadi Iron Company and petroleum exploration in Dailekh, alongside measures to support industries preparing for Nepal's graduation from Least Developed Country status.
