Nepal Government to Provide Monthly Treatment Expenses for Gen Z Uprising Survivors

The Ministry of Health and Population in Nepal has developed a plan to classify and provide monthly treatment expenses for individuals injured during the Gen Z Uprising in September. Survivors will be categorized based on their hospital admissions, with financial aid allocated for caretakers and different levels of injury, ranging from very critically injured to normally injured. A lump sum of Rs. 35,000 was also provided to all injured individuals.

  • The government will provide Rs. 9,000 monthly to caretakers of critically injured individuals and to the seriously injured.
  • Moderately injured individuals will receive Rs. 4,000 per month for treatment expenses.
  • A total of 539 injured individuals have been classified into four categories: 29 very critically injured, 130 critically injured, 85 moderately injured, and 295 normally injured.
  • The classification of injured individuals was determined using identity cards issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
