Auditor General Urges Universities to Reclaim Encroached Land and Strengthen Asset Protection
The Office of the Auditor General has directed Tribhuvan University and other universities to reclaim encroached land and protect institutional property, with recommendations included in its 63rd annual report. The report highlights significant encroachment on university lands, including 14,784,000 square metres belonging to Tribhuvan University, and urges institutions to maintain asset records and coordinate with authorities for recovery. It also suggests forwarding encroachment and misuse cases to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and the Central Investigation Bureau.
