The Supreme Court of Nepal has issued an interim order to halt the government's decision to collect customs duties on daily essential goods valued over Rs 100 imported through Nepal–India border points. The order, issued by Justices Hariprasad Phuyal and Tek Prasad Dhungana, followed a petition arguing that the policy violates trade treaties. The court directed the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Department of Customs to immediately cease implementation of the decision.
