442 Hectares of Encroached Forest Land Cleared in Madhesh Province

In the last fiscal year 2081/82, 442 hectares of forest land encroached upon for years in Madhesh Province have been cleared and reclaimed. While significant progress has been made, 16,599 hectares of forest land across the province remain under encroachment. The Directorate of Forest emphasizes the need for political and local coordination to resolve the issue, noting that only 3.72 percent of Madhesh Province's land area is covered by forests.
