The government has spent approximately 60 percent of its annual budget by the end of Baisakh (May 14) of the current fiscal year, totaling Rs 1 trillion 173 billion. Capital expenditure has reached only 27.91 percent of the allocated Rs 407 billion. Government revenue has also fallen short, collecting Rs 1 trillion 12 billion against a target of Rs 1 trillion 533 billion, representing 66 percent of the annual goal. Foreign aid received so far is 33.28 percent of the target.
