Five-year strategy and action plan in the works for sustainable tourism

The Nepal Tourism Board and the United Nations Development Programme are collaborating on an International Marketing Strategy and Five-Year Action Plan (2026–2030) to shift Nepal towards high-value, sustainable tourism. The strategy, developed by consulting firm 'Beed' with 135 stakeholders, aims to rebrand Nepal by emphasizing its cultural, spiritual, wellness, and nature-based experiences beyond adventure tourism. Officials highlighted the need for coordinated international marketing, while tourism leaders stressed strengthening digital marketing, border-town investments, and public-private partnerships.
