China Sets Record for Solar Energy Exports in March 2026

China set a record in March 2026 for solar energy exports, exporting 68 gigawatts of capacity, a 49% increase from the previous record. This growth is attributed to rising global energy demand, needs in African and Asian countries, and increased fossil fuel prices due to the US-Iran war. The price of Chinese solar panels has increased by approximately 9% following the end of China's tax exemption on clean energy materials.
