Smartphone imports in Nepal surged by 36.7% in value during the first 10 months of fiscal year 2025/26, reaching Rs 39.39 billion, driven by demand for higher-priced handsets and a strengthening US dollar. The quantity of imported smartphones increased by 4.38%. China remains the dominant supplier, followed by India. The government collected Rs 7.34 billion in customs revenue from these imports.
